Story of Lord Ganesha

Once, Goddess Parvati created a boy from sandalwood paste while bathing. She gave him life and told him to guard the door while she took a bath. When Lord Shiva, her husband, returned home, the boy (Ganesha) stopped him at the door. Not knowing who the boy was, Shiva got angry and cut off his head.

Parvati was heartbroken. To calm her, Shiva promised to bring the boy back to life. He asked his followers to find the head of the first living being they saw, which was an elephant. They brought the elephant’s head, and Lord Shiva placed it on the boy's body, bringing him back to life. He named him Ganesha, and blessed him as the God of Wisdom, Success, and New Beginnings.

From that day, Lord Ganesha became the first deity to be worshipped before starting any new work, rituals, or journey.
